About

Welcome to Ian Friske’s fashion marketing portfolio. Over the past year, his work within the local fashion community has evolved into a distinct personal brand rooted in intention, strategy, and creative direction. Beginning as a model in local runway shows, Ian developed an early understanding of garment construction, styling, and visual storytelling from in front of the camera. That foundation expanded through his leadership roles with Golden Magazine and collaborative projects connected to Fashion Week Minnesota, where he moved beyond participation and into concept development, production, and brand-building.

Ian’s experience bridges creative vision and business execution. Through editorial direction, marketing roles, retail experience at Anthropologie, and large-scale show production, he has developed a strong understanding of how corporate fashion operates—from product positioning and audience engagement to launch strategy and brand identity. His work reflects a balance between high-concept artistry and measurable impact, aligning with his long-term goal of working in corporate high fashion while continuing to cultivate a bold, culturally aware, and community-driven personal brand.

  • Tasked with developing and executing spring collection marketing campaign. Executed product and model shoots with a team of stylists for the website.

Increased reach of social media posts by 150%, increased followers by 1000% in the last month and a half. Organized collaborations between local UGC creators and developed a content strategy for the following year.

  • Lead Marketing and PR relations for the fashionmsp The Experiment, mean´t to drive community engagement with a fashion fundraiser show through IMC, SEO, and PR relations through local magazines and news. 

  • Charged with organizing 12 committee members in a cohesive marketing campaign, editorial campaign, and billboards.

FASHION WEEK MINNESOTA, Golden Revival show, Minneapolis, Minnesota January 2024 – May 2024

  • Executed a collaborative fashion show with Fashion Week Minnesota and Golden Magazine, featuring ten designers, thirty models, and teams of photographers and videographers, stylists, production assistants, decor companies, and venue staff. 

  • Brand management, marketing, creative direction, decision-making, collaboration, and project management.

IRIDESCENCE FASHION COLLECTION, Minneapolis, Minnesota September 2023 – December 2023

  • Developed a fashion fundraiser in collaboration with the undergraduate student government, and guided a team of designers, hair stylists, photographers, and production assistants in raising over $3000 in funds for the UMN Boyton food shelf

  • Strategic management, conflict resolution, creative direction, decision-making, project management, and marketing. 

SHOWS/ACHIEVEMENTS/EXHIBITIONS

GOLDEN REVIVAL LOOKBOOK, Saint Paul, Minnesota April 2024

  • Designed and constructed a collection of five formal gowns inspired by vintage 1950s Dior aligning.

  • The collection was published in the Star Tribune and used in marketing for Fashion Week Minnesota, published on billboards around the greater Twin Cities area. 

EVOLVE, Minneapolis, Minnesota August 2024

  • Researched and developed a new prototype collection based on chemistry and resin, designing five distinct pieces. 

WALK THE LINE, Saint Paul, Minnesota September 2024

  • Designed and constructed a collection of five distinct avant-garde-inspired garments. 

  • Production was produced by Dual Studios company and featured in local MNSPG magazine.
